User Error and Training
Like with any technology, you will want to train your employees to run the pocket PC barcode scanner. While most problems you will encounter will stem from some sort of user error, they should also be on the look out for problems with the input system. Some CCD scanners can have trouble picking up the information and may need to be calibrated. By taking the time to properly introduce your technology, you can head off most problems that can come up from your associates using the machine incorrectly. Also, it can be extremely helpful to put together a trouble shooting guide to accompany each machine. As you get used to the technology yourself, keep a note of the problems that you experienced and how you were able to fix them. This could end up saving you a lot of time trouble shooting for your employees.
